Pollutec Morocco 2011: looking forward to a successful 3rd show
26th – 29th October – Foire Internationale de Casablanca
This coming October, Casablanca will host the third annual event for environment professionals in Morocco, at which close to 400 exhibitors, Moroccan and international ecomanufacturers from the Water, Waste, Energy, Risk Prevention and Sustainable Development sectors will come together with more than 8,000 professional visitors drawn from national and local authorities, industry, eco-activities, building and civil engineering and services.
The Pollutec Morocco 2011 will also be marked by a massive institutional involvement on the part of government bodies. For the third year in a row, Pollutec Morocco is being held under the auspices of the Department responsible for Water and the Environment and this year it also benefits from the support of the Ministry of New Technologies, Commerce and Industry, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and the Ministry of Housing.
A broad and diverse range
Once again this year, the show will offer a full range of solutions tailored to the Moroccan market and visitor expectations.
With one hundred exhibitors, including some international leaders such as SADE/CTHM, VEOLIA WATER, TR LENTZ (SOTRALENTZ), SAINT GOBAIN PAM, WILO, PLASTIMA, KSB, ITRON, PERMO BWT, LLABERIA PLASTICS, HUBER TECHNOLOGIE, SWELIA, the water sector will be strongly represented with a broad range of solutions and equipment dedicated to the recovery, treatment and distribution of water. The importance of this sector at Pollutec
Morocco has been recognized by the World Water Forum, which has granted the show its label for 2011.
The energy sector is a central concern in Morocco at present and continues to expand strongly at the show. It has attracted close to forty exhibitors including several big names in the sector such as KRANNICH SOLAR, EXOSUN, TEKNO ENERGY, VALORE, POLE EOLIEN LORRAIN, SOLESA, to mention just a few, who will be presenting their expertise and know-how in the fields of renewables, energy efficiency, diagnostics, etc. In addition, energy efficiency will also feature strongly in the conference programme, with an entire day devoted to new towns.
The waste and recycling sector will revolve around the industry’s major themes (collection equipment and materials, treatment of household, industrial and hospital waste, sorting equipment, etc.) and has attracted a number of major international and Moroccan operators such as SITA EL BEIDA, VALDEME, ECOMED, REMONDIS, VAUCHE and ELDAN RECYCLING, etc. Furthermore, the management and collection of household and industrial waste will be the subject of a day of discussions in the presence of Moroccan and international experts.
The major players in the air sector (ARIA TECHNOLOGIES, ALTAIR ENVIRONNEMENT,…), the management of natural and industrial risks, site and soil remediation, sustainable development (BUREAU VERITAS,…) and analysis-measurement-monitoring (HACH LANGE,…) have also confirmed their participation and will be adding to the multi-sector coverage of the show.
There will also be an outdoor exhibition/events zone, which will allow some specific items such as a waste compactor (SOUNETE), storage tanks (AVIS’EAU) or waste containers (SOPINAL) to be presented.
Finally, and for the first time in Morocco, the show will set side a dedicated space to the Forum Labo Maghreb, organized in partnership with the CIFL (inter-profession committee of laboratory suppliers), in partnership with the Gazette du Laboratoire, and entirely given over to Moroccan and international laboratory professionals. Some forty exhibitors are expected to occupy the 1,000 m2 to present their equipment and analytical solutions for the environment, research, industry and health sectors.
The International Environment Event in Morocco Pollutec Morocco brings together all of Morocco’s environment stakeholders (Plastima, SITA MAROC, ECOVAL, Ferroplast, Cegelec, Wilo, Sita Al Beida, Ecoval, Mafoder, Afriquia plastique, etc.) as well as public sector organizations who are being strongly encouraged by the Department of Water and the Environment, the ONE (national office of electricity), ONEP (national drinking water office), ADEREE (national agency for the development of renewables and energy efficiency). It will nevertheless remain very international.
In fact, continuing on from the two previous shows, the range of international exhibits is continuing to grow vigorously. Some ten countries are represented and leading global ecotechnology players will be present.
There are exhibitors from Austria, Belgium, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Turkey, the United
States..,, and they will be presenting their know-how and equipment on national pavilions or
their own stands.
For the third year in a row, the French pavilion, organized by Ubifrance, will occupy around 1,000 m2, and involve close to 120 companies as well as export assistance organizations (Sud de France Export, EA Eco Entreprises, Centreco-Centrexport, Club ADEME International, CD2E) and regional groupings (Alsace, Lorraine, Rhône-Alpes, Seine et Marne, Nord pas de Calais, Normandy, Upper Normandy, Aquitaine, PACA [Provence, Alps, Côte d’Azur], Languedoc-Roussillon and Centre).
Likewise, Spain, led by the ICEX (Instituto Español de Comercio Exterior), is bringing 25 companies, mostly in the water and energy sectors, who will be occupying a 430 m2 pavilion supported by the AEDYR (association for the reuse and desalination of water).
The Italians will be well represented with over 26 companies and a Piedmont pavilion. Following a successful 2010 presence, the region is returning this year with some fifteen companies, most of which are from the energy and waste sectors, and the support of the Turin Chamber of Commerce. There will also be institutions and research centres from the regions of Sardinia, Basilicata and Piedmont (Environment Park) operating in Morocco within the framework of a technical assistance and co-operation arrangement in field of sewerage and decontamination.
The United States will have its first official pavilion as part of a programme to export its water technologies (WEMI). The contingent is being led by the San Diego World Trade Center and five companies are expected to take part.
Germany will have a stand organized by the VDMA (Verband Deutscher Maschinen- und Anlagenbau – German federation of machinery and systems manufacturers), which will host HUBER TECHNOLOGY, NORDDEUTSCHE SEEKABELWERKE GmbH , ENVIROCHEMIE.
China is also taking part, for the first time with a pavilion focusing on water.
Finally, the show will welcome numerous delegations of visitors from Moroccan and French regions (Brittany, Monaco, Picardy,…).
High quality partners
For the last three years the show has benefited from the active partnership of numerous Moroccan environment stakeholders, including ADEREE (national agency for the development of renewables and energy efficiency), the CMPP (the Moroccan clean production centre), the CGEM (general confederation of Moroccan industry), as well as international ones such as Club ADEME International.
