Kenya is fast moving towards a market-oriented economy. The country’s manufacturing sector, which is in a state of infancy leaves a lot of room for imports. Compared to other East African countries, Kenya has the lowest tax on all locally produced commodities and share capital. Jt. Kenya Arab Chamber of Commerce & Industry & Arabian Exposition, Dubai, joint organizers of many trade exhibitions in Kenya since 1996, have identified the right market, the right niche and the right opportunity for everybody—the African continent, a not much explored territory for business even today. Moreover, Kenya, with its easy access to the 407 million strong consumer market of 19 COMESA countries through the best possible sea, air, road and rail links becomes the geographical hub linking not only all COMESA countries but the whole of the African continent.
A recent survey has revealed a quiet industrial revolution in Kenya and the neighbouring states of emerging micro and medium scale industries in various industry sector categories including consumer and industrial products, which plays a very important role in industrial development of Kenya Jain added.
