Samsung Mobile South Africa announces key partnership at leading entertainment event to be held in Cape Town, 23rd& 24th August 2011

Samsung Mobile South Africa today announced a major partnership that they have signed with UK-¬‐ based conference company, All Amber. The deal will make Samsung Mobile South Africa the Platinum Sponsors at Mobile Entertainment Africa, which is taking place at the One&Only Cape Town on the Victoria & Albert Waterfront.
The signing of the agreement has further strengthened Samsung’s mobile division as one of the most forward-¬‐thinking and developer-¬‐focused organisations in South Africa. A particularly interesting element of the arrangement of the package is the securing of 10 developer tickets for the event. These tickets, which will be distributed by way of special invite, will afford 10 developers the opportunity of attending an extremely senior level conference.
Furthermore, Samsung will be delivering the Keynote Address as well as hosting the reception at the end of the first day of event, which is part of the scheduled 6 hours of informal networking on offer at the conference.
The conference itself has an unrivalled speaker faculty and is focusing on the development of content and services on mobile devices, which is fast becoming a key element of the evolution of the mobile industry across the continent.

With mobile devices by far the most prevalent technological device across the continent, the distributing of content -¬‐ whether it be music, television, film, games or traditional publishing material -¬‐ to mobile consumers is seen as a key future opportunity in relation to expanding data usage and monetising the mobile ecosystem.

All Amber Managing Director, Matthew Dawes, commented: “To have a company of the status of Samsung officially support this inaugural event is fantastic. It also demonstrates Samsung’s commitment to ecosystem-¬‐wide development across the electronics industry. It’s great that 10 developers, who represent future industry leaders, have been allowed to attend this conference, which is certain to be a highly progressive couple of days.”
Brett Loubser, Head of Content, Samsung Mobile South Africa said: “For Samsung it’s a great event to be involved in. This crystallizes our intent to serve the South African market better with local and relevant content. From experience, I know that All Amber events are highly interactive, plus it’s focusing on such an important and emerging subject area. In terms of increasing data usage, future promotional opportunities and content creation and distribution,
Mobile Entertainment Africa very much ticks all the right boxes.”
